I can see my folders which were created on my laptop before importing to android but can't work out how to add a new one on android

I have even attempted to use the File Select to import but it fails with an error stating it cannot be found. Also, I cannot use POP3 mail for Gmail as it gives an authentication error every time. It only allows IMAP use but I do not like IMAP.
Suddenly after the last update of beta 11.0b5 thunderbird suddenly stopped fetching my gmail. Checked settings everything fine. Don't really want to do a reinstall. … (emoñe’ẽve)

both k9-mail and Thunderbirds no longer check mails at scheduled time ( i.e. every 30 minutes ) on my Galaxy S24+ 512gb Android phone. Its something happened in one of the lasr One UI or App updates but I don't know when. Thunderbird is a scratch new installation, with parameters imported from previous k9-mail installation. I tried to set/reset some synch parameters but without success. All Apps have/had full notification permissions. Please help
